Put your tutor on your website

Show your AI tutor's chat on your own web page with a widget and a pasted snippet.

A widget shows your assistant, the AI tutor your students chat with, on a web page you control.

  1. Open your course from the Courses tab, click Widgets, then Create widget. The first time it says Create Your First Widget.
  2. Type a Widget name. Choose your tutor under Assistant.
  3. Under Allowed Domains, click Add Domain and type your site, like example.com. Click Create widget.
  4. Click your widget. Under Embed Widget, pick the HTML, React or Script tab, copy the code, and paste it into your page.

You're done when your tutor's chat shows on your page. Click Test Widget on the widget's page to try it first.

The other fields

  • Theme: Default is SLAN's look. Organisation uses your organisation's own look, if your plan includes it.
  • Initial Message: the greeting students see first.
  • Auto-open chat on load: opens the chat by itself after a short delay. It works in floating bubble mode.

Allowed Domains

Type the plain domain, like example.com, with no https://. That also covers www.example.com. A star like *.example.com is rejected.

Leave the list empty and any site can show your widget. Your plan sets how many domains you can add in all. The form shows your number, and it may be zero.

This list stops honest mistakes. It is not a lock. Do not rely on it to keep your tutor private.

Guest mode

Guest mode lets visitors chat without signing in. It needs two things:

  • Your plan includes it.
  • Your tutor's Access Level is Public. A Public tutor must sit in a Public course.

With guest mode on, Hide login page skips the sign-in box and opens the chat as a guest. Without guest mode, visitors must sign in.

If it doesn't work: visitors see a message that the widget is not set up for their website. Add that site to Allowed Domains.
