Add students to your class
Share your class code or add student emails, then tell your students how to join.
Your students join your cohort, which is your class. How they get in depends on its access level. SLAN sends no invitation email, so you must tell them yourself.
Which way to use
Open the Cohorts tab in Creator Space. Each cohort card shows its access level.
| Cohort access level | How students get in | What you do |

| Private | Only people whose email you add | Add their emails yourself. There is no code to share. |
| Registration Code | People who type the code, and people whose email you add | Copy the code and send it, or add emails. |
| Public | People whose email you add | Add their emails. The screens show no code for a Public class. |
Share your class code
Use this for a Registration Code class. The registration code is the join code.
- Open the Cohorts tab, then open your cohort.
- On Overview, find Registration Code.
- Click the copy button next to the code.
- Send the code to your students.
Add their emails
This works for every level. It is the only way into a Private class.
- Open your cohort and click Members.
- Click Add Members. On an empty class, it says Add Your First Member.
- Type each email. Press Enter after each one, or separate them with commas.
- Click Add Members in the box.
You're done when each email you added shows under Members.
What your students do
- New to SLAN: they sign up with the email you added. The code box goes away and a note says they are invited.
- Already have an account: SLAN adds them straight away. They sign in as usual.
- Have an account and the code: they sign in and open My Access. They click + Join Cohort and type the code.
