Change your tutor and publish it
Edit your AI tutor, try it, and publish the change so your students see it.
Your assistant is the AI tutor your students chat with. Your changes reach students only after you deploy them, which means publish them.
- Open your course from the Courses tab, click Assistants, and open your tutor. Click Edit and make your change.
- Click Save changes at the bottom.
- Click Preview. A chat opens beside the page.
- Happy with it? Click Deploy.
You're done when a message says Deployed and the status says Active.
Good to know
- Preview shows your last saved version. Save first, or you test the old one.
- Deploy stays grey while you are editing, or when there is nothing new to publish.
- After you save, a bar at the bottom also offers Deploy now.
- SLAN has no button to undo a deploy. To go back, edit your tutor back to how it was, save, and deploy again.
When students still see an old version
Changes to your files or frameworks may show a banner at the top of your course. It says Your assistants are out of date.
Click Sync Now. Sync means update what students see. A box may then ask you to deploy your tutors. Click Deploy All.
The banner is about files and frameworks, not your tutor's instructions. Instructions need Deploy only.
If it doesn't work: you saved but Deploy is still grey? You are still in edit mode. Click Save changes first.
