SLAN Cookie Policy

The cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your choices.

Effective 2026-07-06 · Last updated 2026-07-06

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how SLAN ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and in the Services, and how you can manage your choices. It supplements our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

By "cookies" we mean cookies and similar technologies such as pixels, tags, local storage, and software development kits (SDKs) that store or read information on your device.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner. Cookies may be:

  • First-party (set by SLAN) or third-party (set by another company);
  • Session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain for a set period).

We currently use strictly necessary, first-party cookies only. We do not currently use analytics, performance-tracking, or marketing cookies, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

3. The cookies we use

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies (always on)

These cookies are essential for the Services to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as remembering an interface preference. Because they are essential, they do not require your consent, but you can block them in your browser (the Services may not work properly if you do).

If you complete a payment through the Services, our payment processor, Stripe, may separately set its own cookies on its checkout pages for secure payment processing and fraud prevention. Stripe's use of cookies is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

3.2 Performance and marketing cookies

We do not currently set any performance (analytics) or marketing cookies. If we introduce them in the future, they will be off until you consent via a cookie banner, you will be able to withdraw consent at any time, and we will update this policy beforehand.

4. Your choices and how to manage cookies

  • No consent banner today. Because we do not currently use any non-essential cookies, there is nothing to consent to and no cookie banner is shown. If we introduce performance or marketing cookies, we will add a consent banner that lets you accept or reject them with equal ease, and non-essential cookies will not be set until you consent.
  • Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. See your browser's help pages for details.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where required by law, we treat a recognised GPC browser signal as a valid request to opt out of applicable cookies and data "sharing."

For strictly necessary cookies we rely on our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working service. If we introduce performance or marketing cookies, we will rely on your consent, given through a cookie banner and withdrawable at any time. This is consistent with the lawful bases described in our Privacy Notice.

This table reflects the cookies we know the Services set today. We will keep it current as the Services change.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no common industry standard for DNT, so we do not currently respond to DNT signals, but we do honour recognised Global Privacy Control signals as described in Section 4.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices or the law change. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where required, ask for your consent again.
